The Certified Computer Examiner(CCE)® Boot Camp is an intensive one week classroom and laboratory training course in computer forensic examinations that will teach you how to conduct forensically sound computer examinations and will prepare you to take the CCE certification examination.

The computer examiner course will teach you the core forensic procedures that will apply to examining any operating system or file system.  During our course, we provide instruction on the logical structures of the FAT file system utilized by DOS and Windows 9.x and the NTFS logical structures utilized by Windows NT, 2000 and XP.  The NTFS section provides instruction about the partition table, the boot record, bitmaps, the root directory, the MFT, headers, attributes, resident files, non-resident files, run lists, etc.  There will be a far more detailed course in NTFS logical structures available for programmers and engineers soon.

Our training focus is not only on forensic recovery techniques, but on ensuring that what you find can be admitted in court.  You will learn how to establish and use sound evidence handling procedures and how to conduct examinations using sound forensic examination procedures.  See
course information for information about what the course covers.

The CCE Boot Camp is an intense version of our self-paced online training course. Even though other computer forensic courses advertise that they can train you to conduct forensic examinations in one week, we know that one week is not enough time to thoroughly cover all of the material.  Upon enrollment in the boot camp training, the course material, the software and the practical exercises (except the final hard disk drive) will be shipped to you.  This will permit self-study and completion of as much of the course as possible before the actual boot camp training.

We provide the training in state-of-the-art facilities, not in some hastily put together classroom in a hotel or similar facility.  Each student has their own complete forensic work station for the duration of the course.

The sooner you enroll, the more time you will have to study the materials and work with the practical exercises.  The practical exercises are well developed and are an integral part of teaching and understanding the material.  There are advanced practical exercises for those students who have "done their homework" before the class starts.

We feel the more the student studies and practices, before attending the boot camp training, the more meaningful the training will be.   We look forward to training students who have studied the material and have worked with the practical exercises before the actual classroom boot camp training.  The student questions are superior and the learning experience will be far better than any one week course would normally allow.

There will be support of the pre-classroom self study through a list server, a web site and limited instructor support.  After completion of the boot camp training, we will provide the same level of support that our online students receive.
